TOTAL UPCYCLED WASTE

Message from the Founders

When we started Upcycled, our goal was simple: to take action on the plastic crisis in a way that was local, tangible, and community-driven. We believed that if people could see and participate in the transformation of plastic waste into something useful, it would change how they thought about consumption, waste, and responsibility to the places they live.

Over the years, Upcycled grew into much more than a concept. Through workshops, education programs, cleanups, and small-scale manufacturing, we worked alongside students, volunteers, libraries, schools, nonprofits, and local partners to turn discarded plastic into benches, garden beds, picnic tables, and art that now live in shared community spaces. Just as importantly, we created opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection around environmental stewardship.

With all planned projects now complete, we have made the decision to conclude Upcycled’s operations. This closing reflects the completion of the work we set out to do, not a lack of belief in the mission. The impact of Upcycled will continue through the donated infrastructure, the partnerships formed, and the individuals who carry these lessons forward.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported this work — our funders, partners, volunteers, educators, and community members. Upcycled existed because of your trust, collaboration, and shared commitment to caring for our environment. Thank you for being part of this journey.

MORE ABOUT US

Projects Completed

Upcycled’s projects were designed to address plastic waste through local action, hands-on education, and community partnerships. Across all programs, the organization focused on collecting post-consumer plastic, transforming it into durable products, and placing those products back into shared community spaces.

This work combined small-scale manufacturing with environmental education and outreach. Through workshops, youth programs, cleanups, and pilot projects, Upcycled demonstrated practical ways communities can reduce waste, strengthen stewardship, and create long-lasting value from discarded materials.

All projects and programs described in this report have been completed as part of Upcycled’s planned scope of work.
